Bloomsburg Swimmers Qualify for NCAA Championships

Bloomsburg Swimmers Qualify for NCAA Championships
Three members of the Bloomsburg University swim team qualified for the NCAA Championships at a last chance qualifying meet at the University of Maryland over the weekend.
For the men, junior Chris Rumfelt (Shamokin/Shamokin) qualified in the 200-free in a time of 1:40.63 while senior Travis Backenstoe (Walnutport/Northampton) swam a 20.78 to qualify in the 50-free.
On the women's side, sophomore Dianna Smith (West Grove/Avon Grove) qualified in the 200-free in 1:53.78.
Rumfelt, Backenstoe and Smith will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana on March 8-11 for the championship meet hosted by Indiana University. http://www.bloomu.edu/sports/mswm05/swimming0506ncaaqualifiers.shtml

Taper time!

Hi everyone!
This past weekend, Bloomsburg traveled to West Chester for their last dual meet of the season. In a few days, they will travel to Clarion for PSAC's (Feb. 15 - 18). If you're out in the area, please stop by to cheer the team on.
We wish nothing but the best to Coach Rider, Coach RJ and the teams as they continue to work hard during their taper :)
